This competition is a non sanctioned push/pull meet. In other terms, it is a “fun” meet and will not count towards any state/national/world ranking. This event is all about our local athletes showcasing their strength and getting more people involved int he world of powerlifting and fitness! No experience is needed in order to compete.

The event will start at 9am sharp and will go until all competitors have completed their lifts. This should take about 3-4 hours depending on the number of lifters. Please bring your own chairs and anything you need for the event. We will have some items on hand such as chalk but its best to bring your own.

Every lifter who signs up receives a Hastings Summerfest Weightlifting competition t-shirt, Jocko GO energy drink, a hydration drink from Hastings Nutrition, and one entry for our prize giveaway sponsored by JOCKO FUEL.

RULES:

1. must be 13 years or older to compete (parents permission & signature required for those under 18)

2. 3 attempts will be given for each event (bench and deadlift)

3. No unsportsmanlike conduct will be tolerated. You will be forced to leave on the first offense. No warnings will be given.

4. Bench press – shoulders, butt, and feet must be in contact with the bench/ground at all times. This is a “touch & go” event. Wrist wraps are allowed but no other gear.

5. Deadlift – sumo or conventional style is fine. lifter must fully lock out and be given the down command for it to be a good lift and must maintain control of the weight on the way down. Use of straps is permitted

Details:

Price: $10 for one event or $15 for both events.

Location: Intersection of Church St and Court St, Hastings, MI.

Registration: Sign ups will be day of or you may send me a DM prior to the event and instructions for payment will be provided. Lifters will need to arrive one hour prior to the start of the event to warm up, register, weigh in, and attend rules meeting.

Weight Classes: The event is divided into two divisions: Men’s & Women’s. Each division has 6 weight classes. The winner in each weight class for each event will received a 1st place medal.

Prize giveaway: Chase Coughlin of Amplified Real Estate and JOCKO FUEL will be giving away over $600 worth of prizes at the event. Every lifter will be entered in for a chance to win.
